Art Museum facilities and accessibility
The museum´s main entrance is located on Mariankatu. The main entrance has a small threshold. If you need someone to open the door for you, please ring the bell.
The information and ticket office is located in the entrance hall. Access is unimpeded. The information point lends assistance aids such as magnifying glasses.
A toilet for the disabled and the men and women´s rooms are located on the left, next to the coat rack immediately after the entrance hall. Access is unimpeded.
The toilet for the disabled has a changing station and potty. The cafe has highchairs.
Coat rack and lockers
A coat rack is located in the entrance hall on the wall in the vicinity of the cafe. The secure lockers in the entrance hall are free of charge. During the visit to the museum, large bags should be left in a locker. Access to the coat rack and lockers is unimpeded.
The old part of the museum is the former roundhouse, whose four stalls function as exhibition halls. In addition, exhibitions are held in the tower, the cafe and a courtyard area. The exhibition halls are located on the ground floor, such that mobility is not hindered by means of grade or thresholds. The exhibition spaces have benches for resting. Some of the facilities can be temporarily closed to the public, including the tower, which may be used as a private meeting room. A staircase leads to the tower.
The Museum Shop is located in the entrance hall. Access is unimpeded.
Café (on demand)
The café is located in the entrance hall area. The café is also accessed via the courtyard, which has a summer terrace. Inside the café there are there are no steps or thresholds to impede mobility. The door leading to the summer terrace has a fairly high threshold and step.
From the entrance hall, the library and reading room are located in the loft of the second exhibition hall. Access to the library is via a spiral staircase. There is no elevator.
From the entrance hall, the lecture space is located at the end of the second exhibition hall. The lecture space has no steps or thresholds to impede mobility.
The tower meeting room
Access to the tower meeting room is via a spiral staircase. There is no elevator.
Guide and assistance dogs
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the museum. A dog´s water bowl is available on request from the information desk.
Assistance aids and items for loan
Strollers, walkers, magnifying glasses, eyeglasses, flashlights and mirrors are available on request from the information desk.
